The latest Stage 1 ECI awards cover the Hastings Resilience programme and the Brighton East nitrate removal scheme under Southern Water’s £3.1bn Strategic Delivery Partner framework.
Kier is now working on 31 ECI projects for Southern Water worth £104m during the development phase. As they progress to construction, the combined delivery value is expected to exceed £480m.
The Hastings Resilience programme is forecast to be worth more than £30m and will upgrade treatment processes and improve security of supply across the Hastings network.
Work at Brede Water Supply Works includes improvements to rapid gravity filters, high-lift pumping stations, clear water tanks, disinfection systems and discharge infrastructure. Further resilience works will also be developed at Beauport Water Supply Works.
At Brighton East Water Supply Works, Kier will help develop nitrate removal upgrades through new treatment facilities, network reconfiguration and improvements to raw water transfer systems serving the Brighton East and Falmer supply network.
Andy Lingham, managing director for water at Kier Infrastructure, said: “These latest awards continue to build on our relationship with Southern Water and reflect the level of investment now moving through AMP8.”
